MISSION STATEMENT

Here at Simmons Campground our mission is to create a pleasing location for our guests to create happy memories to carry with them.  We wish to provide a beautiful, safe, fun place to relax.  Our hope is that your spirits are renewed after each visit.

Simmons Campground has been a part of the family since 1964 when Harry & Grace Simmons purchased the site from the Pennsylvania Railroad.  The campground was developed gradually site-by-site for family and friends to use.  In 1968 sites were opened to the public.  It is currently operated by Skip & Hara Frank.  We welcome each new camper as a member of our camping family.

FISHING ON THE RIVER

Many of our campers come to the campground because it provides access to both the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers.  Both rivers are known for being  ideal rivers for boating, fishing, camping and wildlife watching. The Susquehanna is also filled with a great deal of walleye, catfish, and smaller panfish. Other fish consisting of musky, northern pike, pickerel, American shad.

Throughout its length, the Juniata River offers some exceptional angling opportunities for a number of popular species of fish, including muskies, walleyes, rock bass, catfish and carp. But far and away the gamefish that attracts more fishermen to these rivers  is  the  smallmouth bass.
